Astrology, the Solar Eclipse Effect, and You

✸ Date will be announced based on the first week’s RSVP replies. You can also click on RSVP from any page under ‘Events and more’ in the drop down menu above. In the RSVP form you can also indicate your preferences and best dates for attending this May event.

A Bay Area Memory – Some 30+ years ago, a group of 20 or so joined together for a Cosmic Launch. It was a stormy night in San Francisco. We piled into the loft at Studio B, gathered under the trees, and the insistent sound of hard rain pattered on the skylights above. We formed a cozy circle, all with personal natal charts in hand. Ready for my performance doing improv reading, astro-vignettes, based on the charts of everyone present.

If you were there, picture this invitation a sequel to that fun, long ago event. Through Zoom.

Let’s have another gathering of the cosmic kind! And this time, the focus in your readings will be in relation to our sun’s April 8 2024 eclipse.

What will we do in the upcoming Zoom gathering?

Think of another language of which we have so much familiarity, that is also intrinsically about numbers. Music! Yes, that’s right, numbers can be so lovely. And if astrology is anything, it’s a language which bespeaks the potential for lyricism in humanity. Put another way, to keep finding your groove. No matter what universal curve balls come zinging your way,

Lyricism and agency, two things that raise us higher. Far above our humble beginnings as mere primate hybrids, allegedly dropped off here to slave away for a gang of extra-terrestrial overlords. Whose only interest in Earth was to pull off a massive heist, to drain the resources of our beautiful planet…Whoops! Better stop here.

Lest it be thought that I’ve hopelessly dematerialized into the indigo realm of speculative fiction. And yet...for more on speculative fiction on this site, check the coming soon corner called “books’n’pics” under the “Events and more” menu.

And about reading?

Reading is what our gathering will center on. When you fill out the RSVP form, you can elect to enter your birth data, should you be interested in having your chart drawn up for inclusion during the reading.

Consider it a kaleidoscope of concepts on consciousness. On the way, we are all connected by our physicality on Earth. And when we delight in the night sky, our view is joined with the views of countless other eyes throughout the night. We are liberated from the barriers, the fears, the noise of ordinary waking life.

In reading, I’m inspired by the poetry of nature’s many voices. Yes, and there are times when inspiration can also come through the musings from minds communicating via astrophysics. Beholding the light of the most eternal life forms, all sentient beings come home to the pure joy of awe. Arriving there we return to being One.

Well, it’s true that Zoom doesn’t include the effects of hard rain on skylights. And it would take one heckuva forest to stretch above all our heads, as far flung as we all are. As for every attendee having their natal chart in hand, this will remain at the heart of our gathering. And yes, it will follow the same idea of an improv reading, along with conversation, questions to chew on, and generally a lovely, convivial time to discover how we moderns can broaden awareness via the eclipse phenomena. Let’s say, a soulful experience to be had by all!

An interesting note from the ancient Maya people, great astronomers with a political take on eclipse–this a time when the window opens for corrupt rulers to meet with their downfall. No doubt, quite a few of us can think of one man in particular–a lying loudmouth, a pinnacle of creepy grossness, and a self-imagined dictator, who would be a prime candidate for this kind of astronomically defined downfall.

And no worries! I’m sure that there are no baby dictators lurking in my email lists. And our modern view on eclipse has evolved considerably. It isn’t “all dark”. As we shall discover in our talks.

I mention we moderns, because we share with astrology, an ancient language, with its roots in astronomical observation and mathematics. In those roots, this language structure flows with numbers, numbers, and the interrelationship of so many numbers.

But wait! Don’t flee, yet!
